Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes and interest of students, as well as the insufficient application of effective learning models in the subject of economics. The aim of this research is to determine the differences in the economics learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo who are taught using the Discovery Learning model and the Project Based Learning model, taking into account students' interest in learning. The method used in this study is comparative with a quantitative approach using a 2x2 factorial design, involving 64 students through Cluster Random Sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, documentation, and tests. The hypotheses were tested using Two-Way ANOVA and Independent Samples t-Test. The analysis results show that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes of students taught using the Discovery Learning model compared to those taught using the Project Based Learning model. Additionally, there is a difference in the average learning outcomes between students with high and low interest in learning. The learning outcomes of students with high interest in learning who are taught using the Project Based Learning model are higher than those taught using the Discovery Learning model. Conversely, the learning outcomes of students with low interest in learning taught using the Discovery Learning model are lower compared to those taught using the Project Based Learning model. There is an interaction between the learning model and students' interest in learning regarding their learning outcomes in the subject of economics.
